The morning is dedicated to the historic center represented by the beautiful Piazza Ducale and the Castle: inside we will make you experience the time of the stay of Leonardo da Vinci at the Dukes Ludovico il Moro and Beatrice d'Este. We can enter the old stables and admire the falconer, the "ducal palace" inhabited at the time by dukes and duchesses and the particular and suggestive covered road, an escape route in times of intrigue and wars.
We recommend to complete the guided tour with the very interesting International Museum of Footwear in the city that has long been one of the most important for the production of quality shoes (admission to the Museum for a fee).
After a lunch based on the typical product of Lomellina, the rice, and some other specialties of the area such as goose salami and Dolceriso del Moro, we propose to spend the afternoon visiting the Mulino di Mora Bassa . At the gates of Vigevano, in the ancient mill that belonged to Ludovico il Moro, some models of Leonardo da Vinci's machines are exhibited. Here we will trace the history of characters such as the great Renaissance artist, the Dukes of Sforza, the "Lady with the Ermine", the young lady portrayed by Leonardo da Vinci and agricultural innovations linked to the canals, in the enchanting landscape of the Po plain. (Admission fee).
